York’s Opportunity Zones

The City of York’s five Opportunity Zones provide a variety of opportunities for impact investing in promising development projects and businesses on the cusp of growth.

The Opportunity Zone program is a nationwide initiative created under the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act and administered by the U.S. Department of Treasury. The program provides federal tax incentives for investment in distressed and historically underserved communities, which have the potential to benefit from investors’ seeking opportunities to invest their capital gains.

Of the 300 census tracts in Pennsylvania designated as Opportunity Zones, 5 are located in the City of York.  Our city’s thriving downtown, history of industrial innovation, and strong workforce make it an ideal place to invest.

The team at the York County Economic Alliance and our community partners are here to help you learn more about our Opportunity Zones and potential investment opportunities.  Contact us to start a conversation today.
